NGC2336
NGC2336 is an elegant, sweeping, barred spiral galaxy in the direction of the Constellation Camelopardalis, approximately 100 Million Light-Years distant. It is a very large spiral galaxy and the most northern galaxy, less than 10 degrees from Polaris. Most notable about NGC2336 is that its morphology is very similar to what is thought to be that of our own galaxy. It has a central bar around which the nearby stars orbit in a figure eight pattern rather than the circles scribed by the outer region stars.
